She debuted in a cosmetics commercial in 1994 and first worked as a VJ and drama actress.

In 1996 she began her singing career with 〈뮤지컬〉, written by Joo Young-hoon, and became very popular.

On her second album she sang 〈저 바다가 날 막겠어〉, written by Park Jin-young. Her third album 《부메랑》 in 1998 became her last record.

She later attended Parsons School of Design in New York. She founded the handbag brand Sang A in 2006 and became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2010.
