걸어온 길

While enrolled at Seoul Institute of the Arts, he debuted in July 2017 with the 《클로저스》 OST. In June 2018 he released the project song 〈웃으며〉 with colleague Moon Seong-wook.

He released his first single 〈사랑에 연습이 있었다면〉 in September 2018, made with producer 2soo. He had taken part in a guide recording, and it was officially released as his own song.

About eight months after its release, the song reached the top of the music charts and became Melon's No. 1 song of the year in 2019. That year 〈조금 취했어〉 also reached the upper ranks.

In 2019, suspicions of chart rigging arose over his sudden chart resurgence, and Lim Jae-hyun denied them. In December of that year his agency sued Park Kyung for defamation over mentioning chart-rigging singers on social media. 〈비의 랩소디〉, released in December 2023, reached No. 1 on Melon in January 2024.
