She majored in piano, and in 1989 she wrote the lyrics and music for Byun Jin-sub's 〈희망사항〉, which became a big hit.

She became known to the public from 1991 as host of KBS's 〈Noh Young-sim's Small Concert〉. She debuted as a singer in 1992 with 〈별걸 다 기억하는 남자〉.

She included 〈시소타기〉 on her second album in 1995. She later released piano albums such as 《무언가》 and 《피아노 걸》.

She has continued to write songs for many singers and to work on music for dramas and films.
