걸어온 길

He entered show business in 1990 with a minor role in the film 〈남부군〉. He debuted as a singer in April 1995 with his 1st full-length album 《이미 나에게로》.

He is famous for difficult high-note ballads and wrote and composed many of his songs himself. He cemented his popularity in 1997 with 〈그때 또 다시〉 from his 3rd album.

After releasing 〈소주 한 잔〉 from his 10th album 《Bye》 in 2003, he paused his singing career to focus on films. He returned with his 11th album in 2009, and 〈또 다시 사랑〉 in 2015 and 〈내가 저지른 사랑〉 in 2016 reached No. 1.

In 2023 he was investigated over suspected involvement in a stock manipulation case. On May 30, 2024, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office dropped the case against him with a finding of no charges.
