Group Story
SM Entertainment's third NCT unit, debuting in August 2016 with seven teenage members and 〈Chewing Gum〉. It had a graduation system in which members leave on reaching adulthood, and Mark graduated at the end of 2018.
Early on they released bright, fresh songs with a teenage feel. From 2019's 〈BOOM〉 they shifted to hip-hop-heavy performances.
In 2020 the graduation system was scrapped and Mark returned, making them a fixed seven-member team. Their first full album 〈맛〉 (2021) was a huge success, and they won the Seoul Music Awards daesang two years running, in 2023 and 2024.
Released the 5th full album in 2025. Became a six-member group in April 2026 when Mark's contract with SM ended.
